PERSONAL STATEMENT:
While a graduate art student at NYU my professor, Sherman Drexler, said, "As artists we strive to contribute to the world’s collective sanity." That view becomes more relevant each year, and remains my purpose in creating art. I approach my work with respect for materials and tools. I woo the stone, clay, or paint in a kind of dance. At times it might be more of a wrestling match, but we become part of each other. Through them I strive to give back new forms. My passion drives me to create works that vibrate with life's mysteries.
